Description: This is an older Casting Set and Kit to Build a 24" Throated Scroll Saw. The Kit Includes All of the Castings, Hardwood Walking Beam/Arms, Drive Belt, Bearing Blocks, Misc Hardware, Drawings and Instruction, as well as Plans to Build your own Table and Stand (Materials for Table Not Included). A sampling of very fine blades is also included. This kit is to be powered by a 1/2 hp electric motor (not included) Before electricity, these saws were known as Walking Beam Saws and were powered primarily by foot using pedals or treadles. They were often fitted to old bicycles or sewing machines so that the user could sit, pedal and saw. Drawings for those such configurations are included for your review. They were also used in large woodworking factories for mass production and often powered by steam or water. This kit is 50-year-old New Old Stock in unused condition. Signs of age such as rust, dents, nicks may be present so view photos carefully for condition as they are part of the description. For size reference, the Flywheel is 5-1/4" in diameter and the Beams are 32"x1-1/2"x1-1/2" at the root of the Beam
