Description: This little guy has me totally perplexed. I have looked everywhere accessible to me online and I cannot find anything like it. I’m guessing it might be German, but that is purely a guess based on things I’ve seen in the past and still there was never anything close to this. I can’t tell if it is a sheep or a deer. It looks like a sheep to me, but the long legs make me wonder what the original intent was. It is also hard to tell exactly what it is made of. Is it paper mache with a clay slip hardened and then painted over it? Is it bisque? Is it ceramic with a chalky finish? It is painted, hollow chalkware (is that even a thing)? It is sweet in its own way. I love the vintage tinsel garland around its neck, the sequins (some are missing) and what appears to be glass glitter on the hooves. It is a little creepy cute with its totally black eyes, but I still enjoyed it while it was mine. I am clearing out my home and almost all of my Easter stuff is going to find new homes where someone else can enjoy them. If you know anything about this I would love to hear from you. I always love learning. There are a couple of cracks. One is on the leg and one is around the ear. Regardless of the imperfections this thing is solid and intact. This item is being sold as is. Please look closely at the photos as they are considered to be part of the description.
