Description: This is from a collection I am auctioning off. Collector Edward Flum of Dearborn, Michigan passed away in 1975, but spent much of his time later in his life writing just about anybody who was anybody in the 1940s-1960s. He would send them birthday wishes, anniversary greetings, get well cards, etc. in the hopes of getting a response. Some return letters were signed by the addressee and some were written and signed by assistants, secretaries or equivalent. Some were not signed, so please examine closely. That said, I am not an autograph expert and I can not certify the signature as real. Please examine the closeup of the handwriting. I think some look good, but again, I am not an expert. "As is" in this regard. Unfortunately for us, Mr. Flum also had a bad habit of using staples and soon-to-be yellowed Scotch tape on his pieces. I actually like seeing the clippings for background on his public figures --- it brings the letters to life. But you will have to be the judge how all of this affects the value of the pieces. All of the letters are just as I got them when I purchased some his collection. And they will be sent that way. Please bookmark me and check back in the next months for more. Multiple buys will ship on one flat shipping charge. These are going USPS Flat Rate Priority for the holiday shipping season. Questions, please give me a shout. THE FINE PRINT AND FAQS: 1. Carefully examine my studio-quality photographs. I do my best to document any flaws or issues. I tend to go overboard in showing flaws. I hate surprises when I buy on eBay as much as you do. I also do my best to accurately describe the items I find. Some categories I know better than others. I will tell you what I know and what I have researched. After that you are on your own. Please ask questions and I will help out if I can. Some ebayers have been very generous helping me out with the nuances of certain categories. Feel free to help me out with your knowledge. I welcome your expertise and enjoy learning about new stuff. 2. I basically sell "As Is." That said, I will accept returns if I have been negligent in my listing information. This includes outright mistakes, misrepresentations, or any errors on my part. I do not know everything about everything (don't tell my kids that please). If you are not sure about something and want to "try it out" at home before having "Buyer's remorse," please do not bid. Every auction or estate sale I go to is "as is." I do better than that with my return policy. I mess up once in a while and I have honored all returns. Please respect this policy. 3. I will combine shipping cost when possible. If you pay after buying more than one lot, I will refund some of the shipping cost.
