Description: VINTAGE SPALDING MODEL 86 PERSIMMON DRIVER, 2, 3, &4 WOODS WITH AVON CHAMOIS GRIPS MADE IN ENGLAND THE PERSIMMON CLUB HEADS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION FOR VINTAGE USED CLUBS. The main areas of use and wear are on the sole plates. The clubs have what is sometimes known as the FANCY FACE inserts. The club heads also say: Pro Model, Synchro Dyned, Hydrosealed The sole plates on the 2,3,&4 woods are brass, and the sole plate on the driver is aluminum. This was very common for quality persimmon clubs. Brass sole plates on the fairway woods to put more weight below the ball to help the ball get airborn. An Aluminum sole plate on the driver to make it lighter. I don’t know how old the AVON CHAMOIS GRIPS are, but they don’t show much wear at all. The shafts are Spalding Pro Flite Pro Only and are in good condition. A REALLY FINE AND CLASSIC SET OF VINTAGE PERSIMMON GOLF CLUBS.
