The design is a fancy raised border. The design is on both sides. If there are white or dark spots on my photos, it is camera flash or reflection of background unless noted otherwise, not an imperfection. This charm is marked Sterling on the back. There is no engraving on the back of the heart charm. The charm is in good condition, with no dings or dents. The heart charm measures approximately 5/8" across in size. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT COMPUTER MONITORS ARE NOT ALL CALIBRATED ALIKE. THE COLORS YOU SEE ON YOUR SCREEN MAY BE DIFFERENT THAN WHAT I SEE ON MY MONITOR.
