Description: Towle MCM Bowl Set -Set includes a large black bowl and four smaller black bowls -The large bowl is marked Towle Sterling 325 at its base -The smaller bowls are unmarked and do not have a silver base The sticker at the underside of the large bowl reads: TOWLE STERLING-MOUNTED BOWL OF PERMANENT MELAMINE Beautiful sterling combined with one of the hardest plastic materials known produced this superb fruit, salad or dessert bowl. Hot foods such as vegetables, spaghetti, soups and chowders can be served more graciously and safely than from porcelain or glass. This handsome bowl will not chip or break in normal home use. Perfectly safe to place in automatic dish-washers. For best results, remove immediately after washing and hand dry. Do not place in oven or over flame. TOWLE SILVERSMITHS NEWBURYPORT, MASS. Approximate Measurements: The larger bowl stands about 4 11/16" tall and has a diameter of 11 3/8" (measured outer edge to outer edge). The smaller bowls are about 2" tall with a diameter of 5 7/16" (measured outer edge to outer edge). Condition: The bowls are in good preowned condition with some scratching, scuffing and general wear. See photos. I do not see any chips on the larger bowl, but there are a couple of small chips on one of the smaller bowls (shown in the last two photos).
