Description: Vintage UK CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY LINEN PILLOW COVER/SHAM-P.S. Lamborn Print-17x27 Hand Crafted from Linen Tea/Kitchen Towel. Towel Marked "Linen" A very unusual and hard to find piece! The tea towel is from the 1970s and is printed with an etching of Cambridge University in England by Peter Splendelowe Lamborn (1722-1774). Lamborn was an English engraver and miniature painter. His engravings of Cambridge University were done in the 1760s. The seamstress or tailor has made the pillow cover/sham out of a solid white backing that feels like linen. The piping edge of the cover is done in a lovely shade of taupe that matches the taupe of the towel. The bottom edge of the pillow cover/sham is open for the insertion of a pillow or pillow form. Simply stitch it up for a secure closure. The towel has some holes and 2 small spots but is still very usable. Please see pictures. Good pre-owned condition.
