Description: Vladimir Lazarev: Vladimir Lazarev was born in Russia, in a small village near Rostov-on-Don, in 1904. He attended public school in Rostov until he was 16 years old then joined the Imperial Army during the Russian Revolution. After recovering from shrapnel wounds, he studied engineering in the University of Czecho-Slovakia and later moved to Germany where he attended art schools and also studied with various artists. He also attended art schools in Paris studying under private tutors, one of them being Miassodev. He lived in France and Germany over a period of fifteen to twenty years.
