Description: I think these belts first appeared in 1959, and were issued pretty much right up until the early 1990s. Like most other German military stuff, they're incredibly durable and well made, and this one should be going strong for decades to come. This particular belt is interesting as somebody (likely the original wearer) painted a four leaf clover onto one of the inside-facing brass pieces. I don't know what sort of paint was used, but it's very durable - it'd have to be to survive life in the field, and did not chip off when I poked at it. This belt is on the smaller side - a maximum of about 34" of usable length. There are some mud stains on it, as pictured. -------- I am a longtime collector of Cold War military equipment. However, as the need to pay for grad school looms on the horizon, I am now selling off a good portion of my collection. Follow me to see my latest listings, and grab some fascinating history (and other stuff) at great prices! I am a collector more than a salesman, and so I'm quite happy to do whatever I can to ensure that you get what you're looking for. I'm always happy to combine shipping! Unfortunately eBay makes that process difficult sometimes, but if you can't request an invoice, go ahead and buy what you want and I will refund the difference! International buyers please note that you are responsible for determining whether this item is allowed to import; I will not refund orders because they were confiscated by customs.
