Description: Here for sale is One Vintage Winneco Orange Speckled Tyrannosaurus rex Dinosaur that is in excellent condition. At first glance, you may think that this is an MPC dinosaur, but it is not. In 1972, Winneco (formerly Payton) copied 12 of the 24 MPC dinosaurs (much like MPC had earlier copied some of the Marx dinosaurs) and produced their own set of figures that are about 90 percent as large as the MPC figures. Winneco also used brighter colors than those typically used by MPC. Additionally, Winneco molded some of their figures with the tails of the animals pointing upward and the necks of the figures pointed downward. The 12 Winneco Dinosaurs include the Allosaurus, the Ankylosaurus, the Brontosaurus, the Cynognathus, the Dimetrodon, the Kronosaurus, the Plateosaurus, the Pteranodon, the Stegosaurus, the Styrachosaurus, the Trachodon, and the Tyrannosaurus rex. Today, the Winneco dinosaurs are rather rare and highly collectible. This ancient creature needs a new, permanent home. Perhaps you could use this brightly-colored figure to complete your collection or diorama.
