Description: Description and Condition Vintage 1970's Zebra Pottery / Wine Holder / Vase Planter by Jon Carlos Lopez for Bennington Pottery Vermont. Measures approximately 11.25" tall x 8" wide x 5" deep, and weighs close to 6 pounds. Marked/Signed "Lopez" on its backside and "Made in USA" on the bottom section. As shown, the piece depicts the tall grass, foreground foliage, in high relief along the bottom half section, giving it a nice dimensional perspective. Jon Carlos Lopez was born in 1940 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the noted artists Carlos and Rhoda Le Blanc Lopez. He earned both a BA and a Masters degree after studying at Antioch, the University of Michigan, UCLA, the Otis Art Institute, and studied extensively in Europe.This rare zebra piece of Lopez pottery is worthy of anyone's collection of American Studio Art Pottery.In great pre-owned condition.
