Description: Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Three framed notes issued in the State of Virginia during the Civil War. Original 1861 hand signed “Two Dollars” note issued by “The Bank of the Commonwealth” in Richmond, Virginia. The notes was issued without serial numbers. Plain back. An original 1862 hand signed “One Dollar” note issued by “The Bank of the Old Dominion” from their branch bank in “Pearisburg”, Virginia. The note has the hand inscribed serial number “3024” in red ink. It has a plain back. The original 1862 “Virginia Treasury Note” – “One Dollar” note was engraved by “Hoyer & Ludwig. Richmond, VA.” and hand signed in brown ink. The serial number “5406” was also inscribed by hand. The bust in left corner is of Virginia Governor John Letcher. The note was issued out of Richmond, Virginia, and has a plain back. The hand made solid Oak frame is 11” x 14” (glass) in size. The frame is ready to hang. The wire is recessed which allows the frame to rest flat back to the wall as in a museum mount. The “bumpons” on each back corner protect the wall and keep the frame level. All of the frame and display work was done in our cabinet shop here in Fredericksburg, Virginia. All of the artifacts are guaranteed to be original as stated. A hand signed and dated “Certificate of Authenticity” will be issued by Collectors Frame with a photograph and description of the items purchased. Any other literature shown will come with the frame.
