Can light up bulbs when driven with a few watts at antenna resonance frequency. Can be tuned down to 1000 Hz for reception. Can be used to pull power out of the airwaves for meteorological experiments. Self Resonance at 391 kHz center, 285 Khz with one end grounded, 325 khz end driven, 285 kHz at center with 1 end grounded. Tunes to 4.1 kHz when a 0.047 uF capacitor is placed across the coil. The coil will receive VLF tweeks and whistlers at 1.6 kHz to 7 kHz when connected to the microphone input of audio recording devices such as tape recorder or digital audio recorder. No extra preamp needed, if recording device has standard mic sensitivity of 1 mV. See photos for impedance curves. 1000 ohms at 5 kHz. Coated with clear glue to protect coil. Not weatherproof.
