Description: Socialist Workers Party campaign poster 1974 VOTE SOCIALIST WORKERS 74 This is a nice political poster put out by the Socialist Workers Party for their campaign in New York in 1974. It promotes two women candidates and an African-AmericanDerrick Morrison for Governor; Katherine Sojourner for Congress from the 18th District in New York City; and Rebecca Finch for U.S. Senator. The poster measures 17x22 inches in size. It has Row E scrawled in the upper margin, to show voters what line on the ballot the SWP occupied. It has a couple small and faint stains and the bottom half is somewhat browned, plus the paper is worn through in two short spots at the crease lines where it was folded for several decades (see photos). Even so, the poster is still in relatively attractive condition overall, with a bold red border, and would make an appealing display piece. It will be shipped folded, the way it was stored for so long. Below photos of the three candidates, the text promoting their races is printed in both Spanish and English. It outlines some of the party platforms they were working for, FOR A SOCIALIST AMERICA. The goals are: * Puerto Rican, Black, and Chinese Community Control of Schools in District 1! * Cops Out of the Schools! Stop Police Brutality! * Equal Rights for Women! * Decent Low-Cost Housing for All! * Jobs for All! * Tax the Rich, Not the Workers! No Wage Controls! * Independence for Puerto Rico Now! p2508/mr2-gsp3302 _gsrx_vers_1680 (GS 9.8.3 (1680))
