Vtg 1970s Cox Int’l PLYMOUTH SCHOOL Silk Patch / Sticker ?-Read) 03NR

Description: These Cox International collectibles are very hard to classify....are they a sticker? a patch? a badge (& is that the same thing as a patch) or a someone called it a trade card? Here's what I was able to figure out. It appears these were made by Cox International in the 1970s in a series called "U.S.A. Badges". They were made in Antwerp, Belgium. They are super-dooper-paper-thin...but they are not a typical sticker...they are almost like a thin canvas (if you run your fingernail across them, they are "ribbed" and remind me so much of the sports cloth patches from the 1970s that you peel off a portion that otherwise is the size of a baseball card...they are that thin). So they maybe used to be a sticker, they called them "badges", the feel similar to the old thin sports patches, and I they may be considered a trade card of sorts (but not sure). If my google translate is correct...they are made of silk. MUST NOTE: They are NOT STICKY ANYMORE...some are barely, barely sticky and some are not sticky at all (makes sense for something many decades old). (***and some do still have some sticky...just really all across the board)...I just don't want anyone thinking it will for sure stick as it might not. ALSO MUST NOTE: If there is a front & back photo showing a number directly on the back, then even if it arrives in 2 pieces (the back covering doesn't stick well and some have fallen off)...then that is the number for sure that your collectible is. HOWEVER...if on the back photo if shows the backing "beside" the collectible (not on it)...that means it was loose and the collectible was loose and they were the same shape and close to each other...BUT NOT SURE THEY ARE A TRUE MATCH. FURTHERMORE...some may not have the backing at all...if so, it will not be pictured. I like the ones that have a backing as these were a numbered set. So...despite what I don't know about these, here's what I do know...I think many of these are fairly hard to find so if one of them is your favorite sport or city...I'm not sure you'll find anyone else selling them. They would be awesome for scrapbooks, small "stocking stuffer gifts", & shadowboxes. You MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT be able to sew them on...but with age and & how thin they are, I just don't know.
