Description: Vintage 55" Square Off-White Silk & Wool? Piano Scarf Shawl Moorish Mosiac Tapestry Brocade Tablecloth Wall Hanging This vintage textile piece appears to be a piano scarf or shawl, possibly a tablecloth. An estate find from a farm homestead in New Hampshire. I believe that judging from the sheen and feel of the fabric there is some silk woven into it, mixed with wool? May date to the late 1800's, early 1900's, not sure. Background color is warmer than what you see in most of the pics, more like in main photo. I've photographed both the front and back to show the weave and issues. Several stains and some loose threads in a couple of areas, otherwise seems quite sturdy, but lightweight. I did not try to clean, slight musty odor from storage. Measures 56" by 55".
