Description: The hull of the boat is 17 to 18 inches long. The frontmost sail extends 4 to 5 inches farther so the whole thing is about 22 inches long. The height from the metal bottom all the way to the top sail (if that part were fixed so it were stretched out) would be about 2 feet. Included here are the boat (missing a couple metal loops and one of the strings, I suspect), the original box, some foam packaging pieces moulded to cushion, the ends of the ship, a nice wood stand for displaying the ship, and two copies of the instructions (small sheet of paper that also includes images of other boats). There are scuffs and other damage to the box, including a puncture on top. The tape that helps hold the the Bosun Boats label on either side was dingy so I peeled a lot of it off (though this did a big more damage to the box) and replaced it with cleaner tape. The two identical instruction sheets are in good condition, one with very few detects, the other with a bit of crumpling. The sails were a bit dingy as well so I washed them with soap and natural laundry detergent. There are still a few spots. As you can see one of the wooden spars or thinner mast pieces appears to have snapped (perhaps dropped or damaged by a very strong wind?) and there are two small holes in the mast where perhaps some metal loops were fastened. It looks as though a line is missing too I am including a loop I fashioned out of silver wire to fit in one of the holes in the mast…one should probably add a drop of glue to make sure it doesn’t fall out…as well as a section of twine. I imagine this boat was actually sailed on the water at one point due to the area so rust where the metal keel. meets the wooden hull (perhaps just like a real boat) and some of the paint is flaking off. There are a few other small defects on the ship, like a few more chips on the keel and in the hull. I have tried to take care of any musty smell by cleaning the ship and placing some soap in the box. Thanks for checking out this listing.
