Description: Empty vintage Peter Paul Mounds candy bar display cardboard box featuring James Garner in the Maverick TV Show from 1957-1962. Also has Dorothy Provine who played Pinky Pinkham in the TV series 'Roaring 20's' from 1960-1962. Box is undated but since the box has illustrations of people from TV shows from the late 1950's to the early 1960's, my guess would be that this display box is from the early 1960's. This was a store display box, with instructions on the box to the merchant that it should be displayed side by side with Mounds Almond Joy. The box held 24 ten cent packs of Almond Joy candy. What is also note worthy on this box is the bottom piece. In most candy boxes, that bottom piece is plain-no decoration at all. The Mound's bottom on this box has lettering on all 4 sides and even in the inside of the bottom. Condition is very good, with no dents, bends or tears in the cardboard. A little grime on the top but not critical. I do see where someone has written in pen some numbers at the top of the top. There are 3 other identical boxes for sale on ebay, 2 less expensive than my box but in poor condition. One other box is in slightly better condition than my box, but more expensive. I think my box is bargain priced.
