VTG Handmade Wood Cutout Happy Clown & Puppy Figures Wall Decor Folk Art Signed

You can tell by the detail in the artwork and painting of this vintage handmade wood cutout featuring a happy rainbow clown adolescent/young person and their adoring puppy. Provenance: I purchased this recently at an estate sale in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I was told this was made by this person‘s aunt Betty Bickford when she lived in Memphis, Tennessee sometime shortly after Y2K. She was in her 20s when she made this, and she had the assistance of her father. The young clown gazes off into the distance or maybe at a friend with a look of true joy on its face, and the puppy at its feet, has its beautiful blue eyes locked on its young clown, excited, wagging its tail and climbing up on the clowns lap even wearing its own funny clown, shoes. Look at the highlights and shadows in the three dimensional texture of the little red dots on the clowns collar cuffs and pant leg frills. You can see individual hairs on the puppies ears and eyelashes. This is such a wonderful piece. The intricate design is signed on the puppies, shoe by the artist, “Betty” for Betty Bickford and hand-painted with all of the vibrant colors of the rainbow. The piece measures 12.5 inches in length, 17 inches in height, and 0.75 - 1.5 inches in width. The cutout is perfect for wall decor for any child’s bedroom or just about anywhere and fits any style.
