This tapered triangular vase features amber colored beveled glass wrapped in ormolu gold tone metal with a floral filigree design on the lip and floral and tassel arms and feet. Measures approx. 9 1/2” tall, 5-1/2” wide ( at widest point), with a 2-3/4” mouth hole opening. Weight 1 pound 10 ounces Ormolu is a decorative technique involving the application of finely ground, high-carat gold to a bronze object. This process, also known as “gilt bronze,” was popular in the 18th and 19th centuries, especially in France. The term “ormolu” comes from the French phrase “or moulu,” which means “ground gold.”Ormolu is often used to create intricate designs and embellishments on furniture, clocks, and decorative items like your vintage amber glass vase.
