Description: This is a hard cover folio, measuring approx. (11 1/2" x 15"). Distributed by the Art League of Santa Barbara (California). It contains (4) prints, each measuring approx.(9" x 12"), each in a matted folder. There are (10) prints listed but there are only (4) included. The (4) are by Santa Barbara artists. I don't know if only (4) were ;meant to be included or if (10) were supposed to be included. The ones in the folio include: "CHIEF BIRD RATTLE" by Kathryn W. Leighton - "PINOCHLE" by Clarence R. Mattei - "SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO" by Edward Borein - "THE TERRACE, SAMARKAND" by Colin Campbell Cooper, N.A. In the 1920's, the Art League decided to take some of the artist's work on the road. It was exhibited at the Biltmore Salon in Los Angeles in 1927. Printed on one page is credit to "CHARLES O. MIDDLETON, PRESIDENT BILTMORE SALON AND OF THE ART LEAGUE OF SANTA BARBARA". Internet research shows an article titled "THE ARTS IN SANTA BARBARA" by Janet B. Dominik giving more information on the league and it's exhibits during this time period. I believe that this folio was sold during the traveling exhibits in 1927. Overall, very good condition. The front and back covers are well attached together with wear to the corners and edges. There are two flaps on the inside that have some tears, really not affecting anything important. There are no other tears anywhere are any type of damage. All of the prints are excellent with the exception of "PINOCHLE", which has a small stain in the upper margin, not affecting the subject matter. Thank you. MBL
