Stone, Jr. (1929 - 2009) was active/lived in California. William Stone Jr is known for Land and seascape painting. William F. Stone, Jr. was born in Oakland, California on September 11, 1929. Living in that area in his early years, he settled on the Monterey Peninsula in 1956. He now resides in the California Coastal community of Pacific Grove. Stone, primarily a watercolorist, is known for his California landscapes and coastal images painted in a unique, almost abstract, style. Stone studied at the University of California, Berkeley (B.A.). He also studied at the School of Medical Illustration in Boston, Massachusetts. Later he earned a Teaching Credential from San Jose State University. Stone has been a member of the prestigious Carmel Art Association since 1972, serving on its Board of Directors on several occasions. He has served three (3) terms as that Association's President. He is a recognized leader in the Monterey Peninsula art community. William F. A couple small scrapes on the left side of the white area and a small visible chip or artist missing spots of impasto style paint can be seen on the right side of white background. May need a couple touch ups in these areas (see photos). Could use a light cleaning. As found untouched condition.
