Description: A Scottish provincial sauce or toddy ladle marked by William Hannay of Paisley, the most important silversmith of the Scottish provincial center. The handle bears a fantastic family crest of a swan and the motto "Be Mindfull." My limited research indicates this crest is associated with Clan Campbell of Cawdor*. The ladle is marked with the thistle, Edinburgh date mark for 1812, duty mark, and WH, but does not have the Edinburgh city mark. Condition: very good. Dimensions: 6 1/2"L. Weight is 30 grams. All returns cheerfully accepted. *Macbeth was Thane of Cawdor.
