Description: Design: Purchased at the estate sale of an elderly antiques dealer, this beautiful antique moustache cup and saucer set is beautifully hand painted in a lovely floral design against a fine porcelain background. Maker and age: Both pieces have the green underglaze "T&V France Déposé" mark number 6, dating the porcelain's production to between 1892 and 1907. Source: The Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frank Gaston, third edition. Size: The saucer is 6 inches wide. The cup is 3 3/4 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches tall. The set weighs 9.5 ounces. Condition: Both pieces are in excellent condition, especially considering their age and fragile material, with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration, repairs, crazing or significant wear. There are two tiny spots of wear on the cup handle and a small section of missing gold paint on the saucer edge - that's shown in the photo with the red arrow.
