If imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, then Famous Monsters of Filmland should have been most flattered by WFC, which was a direct copy of the FM look and editorial style. One of the most sought after of the early monster mag titles by collectors, WFC sported some very nice cover art, rivaling (and perhaps bettering) anything FM had to offer, at that time. Not many of these magazines survived, as this was years before the “preserve and collect” comic & monster magazine boom started in the early 1960s. Sadly WFC lasted only four issues. When it comes to the lesser known and scarcer monster magazines, Collectors have found them to be prohibitively expensive and extremely hard to find in collectible shape. Quite often our association with them is only with their cover image as obtaining a “hands-on” copy has thwarted many life-long Collectors. Here is a golden opportunity to obtain this magazine perhaps at a fraction of the price one in better shape would undoubtedly command. Contents: Ape Man, Fiend Without A Face, Saucerman Menace, Bucket of Blood, The Vampire, The Haunted Strangler, Monster of the Month, Bela Lugosi's Life Story, The Curse of Frankenstein, more! Condition: a well read magazine with much wear & creasing. Bottom of spine wear/paper crumble, forward spine roll, cross stress creases/splits along spine, covers detached at bottom staple, much wear/tear around top staple (covers remain attached at top staple only via resultant paper tab), much creasing/wear running parallel to spine on front cover, much creasing and wear to all edges of front cover, apprx. 2-1/4" diagonal crease at bottom right corner of front cover running internally throughout, wear/creases at both reading edge corners of the front cover, wear/creases over surface of front cover, tears along top edge of back cover, apprx. 1/2" vertical tear along bottom edge of back cover, shelf wear/ink grime transfer over surface of back cover, internally complete with all pages with nothing clipped out or missing. All magazines are packaged with Collectors in mind. They will be individually bagged, and sandwiched between two pieces of over-sized cardboard. This not only helps to prevent magazine edge damage during the shipping phase, but it also helps to prevent folding and rough handling of the magazine(s). This secured package is then put into a cushioned bubble mailer, helping to ensure you will receive your item in the same condition that it leaves my crypt in!
