Description: WWII Era Wings of Mercy British American Ambulance Corps Canvas Flight Bag WW2 This canvas flight bag is similar in configuration to today’s military ‘duffle bag’ with grommets around the top opening except that rather than being three or more feet tall it’s only 14” high. It’s screen printed with the logo of the British American Ambulance Corps and the verbiage “Wings of Mercy”. The drawstring (that I believe is period to the bag) is a dual string. One a red, white and blue twisted cord and the second a blue and white twisted cord. There are a couple of minor water and/or dirt stains (see photo) on it which shouldn't be even remotely surprising for something that's 75+ years old. This was an early humanitarian aid organization to help the British War Relief before the US got into the war. This is an extremely rare piece of war time memorabilia. Thanx for looking!
