Description: This WW2 German Style S84/98 Mauser 98k Bayonet & Steel Scabbard is in good condition overall but does show signs of age and wear from handling. The blade is unsharpened and shows strong finish wear, giving it a "Been There" look that would be good for reenacting. The black plastic grip panels look close to the originals and appear to be in good condition and free from any obvious damage. Both grip screws turn freely and the panels and flash guard are easily removed. The mortise slot appears to be correctly sized and when tested on a WW2 era 98k rifle it fit as you would expect. The scabbard is in very good condition and retains a strong amount of it's original black finish. The bayonet fits snuggly inside and is retained securely. Add a reproduction leather belt frog to this bayonet and it will be complete. Great piece to take out and leave your original examples safe at home!
