Description: This is a fine First World War Imperial Prussian order of the Red Eagle 4th Class in the original case that remains in excellent condition. The silver, 40mm wide planchet is extremely well struck and exhibits sharp, crisp detail to both the obverse and reverse sides. The obverse features the Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm III cypher dating it to around the 1888 period. The reverse is with the inscription, 'VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT' within a laurel wreath. The medal is accompanied by a length of original ribbon and housed in its original presentation case. The case is constructed of wood with a fine textured black leatherette covering and a spring button catch at the front that hold the lid tightly secure. It remains an excellent, undamaged example.8707
