Description: This is a very nice World War II Order of the British Empire, Military Division, on ribbon that is in excellent condition. The planchet is made of silver with the central medallion featuring the profile busts of George V and George VI surrounded by the legend ‘FOR GOD AND THE EMPIRE’. The reverse of the medallion has the raised royal cypher GRI for Georges Rex. The planchet is suspended from the original ribbon with a central white strip designating a military award. At the top of the ribbon on the reverse side is a French type dual pin assembly which would have facilitated ease of attachment to the uniform at the presentation ceremony. It remains a beautiful example in excellent, undamaged condition.8890
