This WWII era Czech VZ24 Bayonet belonged to a friend of mine who recently passed away. He set aside vintage military items over the years. This blade was found in his bayonet collection . This WWII era Czech VZ24 bayonet is super clean overall and was German modified by grinding off the upper portion of the muzzle ring (see photos). The bayonet's fullered blade retains approximately 95% of the original dark finish with minor thinning mostly below the blood groove (see photos). The blade appears very lightly sharpened long ago but doesn't have much of a sharp edge now (see photos). The blade ricasso is marked CSZ/A to one side below the crossguard (see photos). The crossguard, pommel and backstrap have most all of the original dark finish remaining as well (see photos). Oil darkened wood grips are clean/tight and secured with screws but have a couple dings along the backstrap (see photos). The pommel side has the appropriate spring loaded release button that functions properly (see photos). The bayonet scabbard is solid overall with a no dings or dents (see photos). It has a lightly browned finish overall, has some very minor corrosion speckling (will somewhat clean if desired -see photos). The frog stud is marked CSZ and has the Czech lion (see photos). The super clean brown leather frog has no stitching issues and is solid/intact overall (see photos). This WWII Czech VZ24 bayonet is very attractive, complete overall and would be excellent for display. It is guaranteed to be an original period piece as described. Great piece for the collector or wanting a WWII German modified "high ears" bayonet. This is a really nice pre-war quality Czech VZ24 bayonet.
