The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Josef Fischer Josef was a Party Member and fell on June 9, 1940 in Reims, France at the age of 26 and in buried in Neufchatel.
