This is a guard marked version of this knife. The blade is marked: US M3 CASE. A tiny nick in the blade. Minor finish wear on the blade. No rust or pitting on the blade. There is no evidence of excessive. It has a stacked leather washer handle. The leather handle has some minor nicks and the normal handling marks, see photos. The guard has some movement and pommel is tight. The scabbard is a 3rd pattern US M8 scabbard, with the belt hook. The scabbard is marked: US M8 over B.M. Co. There are no cracks or chips in the body of the scabbard. See photos. During WWII there were 2,590,240 M3 Knives made, of that total Case manufactured only 300,465. Please see M.H.
