Description: WWII USMC KA-BAR RED SPACER FIGHTING KNIFE - RESTORED W/HOT-BLUED BLADE & HANDLE. One of the more desirable U. S. fighting knives of WWII is the USMC red spacer KA-BAR. Not very many were made, and because of its blued blade and other blued metal parts, it did not fair well in the hot, humid conditions of the Southwest Pacific island campaigns. As a result many came back rusted with missing spacers and broken off pommels. As shown by the photos, I have restored this KA-BAR by hot-bluing the blade and repairing the handle which included replacing several of the leather spacers and buffing handle.
