When the o-ring blows so does your engine unless you get it fixed quickly, and with an oil pressure gauge you can see exactly how much your pumping and if you have good pressure you've got nothing to worry about. We have machined a zinc coated steel fitting with a silicone fiber o-ring and tapped it for our 1.5 inch liquid filled stainless steel bezel oil pressure gauges.
