Description: Sexy Edna Wheaton barely draped suggestive portrait photograph by Edward Thayer Monroe 1921.Ziegfeld Follies stamp and photographers stamp. She portrayed “Beauty” in 1921 silent film “Experience” Sorry for reflections but I photographed through the plastic storage sleeve. Did not want to handle image. 8 x 10 double weight matte surface American dancer and actress Edna Wheaton (1882-1967) was the star of only one film, the Paramount production Experience (George Fitzmaurice, 1921). She appeared as Beauty while co-stars Richard Barthelmess played Youth, Lilyan Tashman played Pleasure and Nita Naldi played Temptation. The title role, Experience, was performed by John Miltern. Before her film role, Edna Wheaton had appeared on Broadway. She was in the chorus of Apple Blossoms in 1919 and in the ensemble of The Half Moon in 1920. She was chosen as the Most Beautiful Girl in a contest for which 6,000 girls had submitted their photographs. One of the prizes was film role in the allegorical play Experience. It was announced that she would next appear with Elsie Ferguson in Footlights. The film was realised in 1921, but without Wheaton. Edna Wheaton returned to New York and performed in three editions of the Ziegfeld Follies: The Ziegfeld Follies of 1921, 1922, and the Summer edition of 1923. On 18 June 1921, Moving Picture World wrote: "Edna Wheaton Marries California Manufacturer", and that probably let to the end of her short career in show business. She passed away in 1967 and interred at the Evergreen Cemetery in Morristown, New Jersey. Her only film Experience (1921) is presumed lost.
